The 2009 Halloween Party

A Smashing Success...

My boys confirmed this when they were told it was time to go by protesting "Already". First I would like to start by thanking Lisa she was a wonderful co-chair, her experience and expertise on running such an event proved to be priceless to a new chair as myself. Lisa was on top of it all and patiently guided me along the way, “THANKS LISA". I also want to thank all the ladies who had a hand in pulling this together. Your advice, impute, and time are much appreciated, and I would have been lost without each one of you. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!!!!!

This year we tried a few different ideas, such as our costume contest. We were fortunate to have kindergarten teacher Arin Rumovich on hand to help with judging. Our winners were: Preschool - Garret B. (Wall-E), Kindergarten – Olivia W.(Strawberry), 1st Grade – Brooke B. (Dalmatian), 2nd Grade - Alison B. (Cat Witch), 3rd Grade – Aiden G. (Robot), 4th Grade – Megan S. (Spa). Winners were chosen based on creativity and originality, Great job kids!!! Photos of winners can be seen on the home page.

I would like to thank Tracy Verrastro of Bolton Recreation for generously offering the use of anything she had that she thought we could use!!!! A BIG SHOUT OUT FOR OUR STUDENT VOLUNTEERS, YOU ALL LOOKED GREAT AND KEPT THE KIDS BUSY AND INTERESTED!!! AWESOME JOB ALL!!! Some of our activities this year were: bounce house (big hit), hayrides, face painting, eyeball pong, Halloween bingo, and ghost Tootsie making, and Halloween musical chairs.

I had a lot of fun co-chairing this event and learned a lot in the process, mostly Bolton is a town full of wonderful people who get involved with all their hearts to make such an event possible for our kids. THANKS TO ALL OUR WONDERFUL SPONSORS - Bolton Self Storage, Bolton Lion's Club, Bolton Mobil, BJ's, Pepperidge Farms, Botticello Farms, ShopRite of Manchester, Spencer Street Dunkin’ Donuts, Fish Family Farm, Edmondson's Farm, Cropley's Lawn and Garden Center. My favorite memory of this year’s event, the squealing children enjoying the hayride. I hope the hayride drivers’ ears have recovered! Time to dust off the broom, until next year. HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL!
